A Henro into the Sacredbook design.   2026

Over the past few years, photographer Kelvin Zhu has documented his pilgrimage to the eighty-eight temples he visited in the Shikoku region of Japan. The design’s narrative structure follows the sequential order from the first to the eighty-eighth temple. The author’s texts are interspersed throughout the nearly 600-page book in eighteen scattered segments, with blank pages before and after each text section for easy navigation during quick browsing.
